    Subject: [usb] USB 2.0 speed
    Top
    Hello,

I am very new to the world of FPGA devices and hardware design in general.

In fact, I do not yet even own an FPGA development board... (Any
suggestions for a student on a small budget?)

Anyway, I am contemplating a "home brew" webcam project, and I was
wondering what kind of speed I can realistically expect to push over
    USB 2.0 link.

The USB 2.0 spec claims 480 Mb/S, but most USB devices I have seen
don't run at anywhere near that speed, so I am a little suspicious.

    Thanks,
    David
