Subject: [pci] Interest In Video Bridge Application -- Newbie
    Top

    Hi All--

I am interested in the possibility of an open PCI video bridge application
for video line/frame grabbing from a 10-bit parallel Bt.656 bus. This would
be a partial replacement and upgrade for the widely-available
    Conexant/Rockwell/Brooktree 8x8 and Philips SAA7146 chips.

Even though I can figure out the possible building blocks (PCI +
Wishbone/DMA Bridge + GPIO), it appears that the knowledge necessary to
integrate them will require an immense learning curve.

Are there a couple of good books or other resources that might help me
along? Nothing is too basic at this point--I am starting from scratch
    knowledge-wise.

FYI, I have the Spartan II 200K version of the development card used for the
    example application.

    Regards--

    Dan
