I am hoping that some may shed some light on these cores for me. I want to do QPSK/8PSK demodulation and was looking at the Quadrature Decoder/Counter project for this, does this provide the base of what I would need to get started on QPSK/8PSK demod? I am also looking for a Turbo Code Decoder core. I saw that there is Turbo Decoder core in development, but it looks like development on this core has ceased (since 2005) and the code was not posted before development stopped. Does anyone have any idea if this project is still being worked on and if I can get the source for it? There is also a Product Code Iterative Decoder core but I am not sure if this is Turbo Codes or some other algorithm. Anyone have any idea?

    Hi Jeremy,

Concerning the Turbo Decoder project from David Brochard, there is VHDL
code available in the download file. However, I never used it and cannot
comment on what level this code is at. If you don't find the download
section, - as it happened to me the first time -, there is a menu on the
top right, saying "Overview :: News :: Downloads :: Tracker". Select the
Downloads and you will find the file.

Now for the quadrature decoder, I used that core one time to determine
the wheel direction of an optical encoder. I am not such an expert with
QPSK to say that this core could fit for its demodulation.

    Cheers,

    Guenter
