Subject: [oc] How to read the data from the SATA interface?
    Top

It is extremely difficult, though not impossible. The company I work for
has implemented a SAS/SATA interface in a pair of Virtex-5 devices
(including phy, link, and application layers)

I would suggest purchasing a SATA<->IDE bridge chip (Marvell, JMicro,
Silicon Images) and implementing the IDE interface instead. This is a much
simpler problem (six months instead of two years)
