Bobcat is a 16-bit DSP but i don't recall what are the specific licensing issues for using it (was it ever released in GPL)? Can anyone comment on the status of Bobcat? If it's free, does anyone have any pointers to its sources?
Check out the source code for the C54x DSP, available here at OpenCores. It is written in Verilog.
