    Well, learning VHDL/Verilog has nothing to do with the vendors as
    they're language standards and are not vendor dependent, although there
    may be some vendor custom flavours...
    
    So, just go and learn VHDL / verilog... as you're more into C/C++, you
    could try picking up Verilog, and possibly SystemC as well... there's no
    harm learning VHDL either...
    
    Different languages have their advantages and disadvantages.. For the 3
    languages I stated above, their level of abstraction would be
    lowest-verilog, highest-SystemC... 
    
    Just surf the web for more information...

    Well, if you've done hardware design before, then, go for it... if not,
    you should start with something simpler first.. and work your way to
    it... cause the PCI-WB bridge is just a bridge.. you'll have to still
    write your core to conform to the WB specs..
